At FoRM, we offer tools for sustaining and optimizing brain function, while focusing on anti-aging methods for brain health. Neurofeedback is the preferred treatment for brain optimization due to its effectiveness, safety, personalization, and efficiency of results. Neurofeedback may be combined with lifestyle recommendations, nutrition, IV therapy and/or other treatments to maximize results.
Many conditions or concerns may benefit from neurofeedback and assessing brain health. Talk to your FoRM Health PDX naturopathic doctor about what neurofeedback can do for you, or schedule a consultation by phone or our online system.

FAQ
The definition of “brain health” encompasses many aspects, including, your ability to remember, concentrate, make sense of the world, judge appropriately, plan accordingly, mental-emotional wellness, and maintaining healthy body patterns, including our sleep-wake cycle. If there is a disruption in these processes, it can affect our mood, memory, ability to focus on tasks, brain efficiency, athletic performance, sleep and overall energy levels.
To establish a brain health baseline, we offer a “brain mapping”, full cognitive evaluation, and blood analysis. Based on your results, we offer a personalized treatment plan to help improve areas of weakness, preserve mental stamina, enhance memory processing, and optimize function, mood and sleep. Treatment can include any one, or a combination of, multiple modalities, with our most common and efficient method being neurofeedback. IV nutritional therapy, supplement consolidation, lifestyle recommendations, or medication management may also be recommended as needed.
Neurofeedback is a specific treatment that uses visual and auditory cues for optimizing, strengthening, and training the brain. Just like you would practice a strength training program to improve muscle strength and tone, neurofeedback is essentially a strength training program for the brain. Programs are customized to you, based on an initial assessment and scan of your brain, along with your specific goals and needs.
The initial brain scan allows us to observe any brain dysfunction, including hyperactive areas, hypoactive areas, and brain communication pathways that may be contributing to symptoms or concerns. A 24-lead initial brain scan is used to maximally observe all areas of the brain.
Neurofeedback may help with:
- Insomnia or other sleep disturbances
- Depression
- General mood stabilization
- Anxiety or stress
- Better focus and concentration
- Brain Fog
- Improved memory
- ADD/ADHD
- Sports performance
- Traumatic brain injury (TBI)
- PTSD
Following an initial brain scan, or commonly called qEEG, a neurofeedback program is designed and personalized based on your results, along with any specific goals or concerns you may have. Training using a series of electrodes placed on your scalp to record your brainwave activity and monitor progression. The program will then use visual cues displayed on a screen and different auditory sounds to help train and reinforce specific brain waves along different locations of the brain. A major benefit of neurofeedback training is that you are an active participant in your treatment. Over time, this method of “brain training” can optimize your cognitive function, memory, mental-emotional status, and other training goals.
