PRP + PRF Skin Rejuvenation

For 10 years we have used Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) for our Skin Rejuvenation procedures. We have since transitioned to using Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF), otherwise known as PRP 2.0, in these procedures as it delivers quicker, more noticeable improvements in skin quality with a longer duration of time.

PRF Skin Rejuvenation Procedures:

PRF Facial

The PRF Facial combines the regenerative power of PRF with the micro-needling, an effective collagen-induction technique. Following the preparation of the PRF in office, the face is micro-needled to create small channels. The PRP is painted over the needled area, penetrating into the deeper layers of the skin where it releases growth factors and cell regeneration. This treatment is ideal for individuals with mild to moderate signs of aging, scarring, hyper-pigmentation and skin sagging or thinning.

PRF Facelift

The PRF Facelift includes the PRF Facial (described above), with PRF bio-filler, which is injected into targeted areas to address wrinkles, scars, sagging, skin hollowing and volume loss. Commonly treated areas include under-eyes, around the mouth, and cheeks.

FAQ

How does PRF Skin Rejuvenation work?

PRF naturally stimulates the regeneration of new cells, correct damaged tissue, and reduce inflammation through the release of growth factors throughout the treated area. Growth factors promote the regeneration of healthier, plumper skin with greater collagen content. Results include improved skin tone, texture, and complexion. Performed in combination with micro-needling, collagen and elastin levels within our skin increase which helps achieve a more youthful appearance.

What is the difference between the PRF Facial and PRF Facelift?

The PRF Facial involves micro-needling with PRF being “painted” over the micro-needled area. The puncturing of the skin helps the PRF penetrate into deeper layers of the skin. PRF and microneedling combine to have an additive effect on skin regeneration. This treatment is ideal for individuals with mild to moderate signs of aging, scarring, hyper-pigmentation and skin sagging or thinning.
The PRF Facelift includes the microneedling procedure described above with additional PRF injected into targeted areas such as deeper wrinkles, scars, pronounced sagging and/or skin hollowing. Commonly treated areas include under eyes, naso-labial folds and cheeks. Please consult with your FoRM provider regarding the most appropriate treatment for you.

Which areas are treated with PRF Skin Rejuvenation?

PRF Skin Rejuvenation is typically performed on the face, but can really be performed on any part of the body needing regeneration. Other commonly treated areas include neck, chest, abdomen and hands.

How many treatments are needed to see results from PRF Skin Rejuvenation?

For best results, a series of 3 monthly treatments are recommended, depending on treatment goals. Some patients report immediate improvement in skin appearance, but many patients notice initial improvement 1 month after the first treatment. Each additional treatment provides additive improvement to skin appearance, providing longer-lasting results.

How long do the results last?

Results following PRF procedures for hair & skin can last 6 months – 1 year from the final treatment in a series. To optimize treatment effectiveness, we encourage patients to seek out routine skin care services such as facials and microdermabrasion as well as work with their FoRM Functional Medicine specialist to optimize health. Maintenance treatments are recommended every 6-12 months.

What is the cost of treatment?

The PRF Facial is $550. The PRF Facelift, which includes additional injections, is $660. Packages of 3 are discounted by 10%, packages of 6 are discounted by 20%.

Do you only treat or see patients from Portland, Oregon?

While our office is located in SE Portland, Oregon, many of our patients travel from the greater Portland area, including: Lake Oswego, Beaverton, Hillsboro, Tigard, Milwaukie, Happy Valley, and Oregon City, for in-office visits and procedures. We also offer virtual office visits, which allows us to provide service to anyone seeking care within Oregon, with the exception of procedures which must be performed in office.

Recovery session one day AFTER a soccer game. ⚽️

Goal is to reduce tension in soft tissues and mobilize restricted areas that arise during competition/performance, restoring healthy movement patterns going into the next training & game cycle.🏃‍♀️

Started off with 30 min of manual therapy to release tight hip flexors (#psoasrelease) and quads as well as chiropractic adjustment to help loosen up a locked up lower back. 

Second-half of the appointment included 30 min of more traditional massage work to relax & release full-body tension that occurs as a result of physical play going up against other players and impact from running up and down the field.

This is what injury prevention looks like for a 40-something soccer player who likes to train hard (sprint intervals and heavy-ish weights 3-4/wk) in between games and has a history of partial quad, hamstring and calf tears.

Chiropractic care with @drpaulmolina about 2 hours after a hard training session includes:

🙌🏽 Soft tissue mobilization/ manual therapy to release tension throughout the muscle and fascia in the overworked areas like hip flexors, glutes, hamstrings, quads, and calves.

💪 Chiropractic adjustments to improve mobility of hips and spine joint to allow for better mechanics.

🙆‍♀️ PT exercises for homework to offset the regular wear and tear.

Staying active and injury-free requires a concerted effort but so worth it! No injuries this soccer season!
