Yes, these injections are generally very safe and tolerated by most. However, they do include a slightly greater risk profile compared to the other aesthetic procedures we offer. Risks include: bruising, allergic or hypersensitivity reaction to the neuromodulator, and potential for an asymmetric response. Patients with a history of sensitivity medications.
Prior to the procedure, avoid taking over-the-counter medications, such as ibuprofen, Advil, naproxen, Alleve, aspirin one week before your appointment to minimize bruising. Fish oil should also be avoided. If you are taking a prescription medication, please consult with your prescribing doctor before discontinuing your medication prior to this procedure. Post-care instructions include avoiding exercise, alcohol or excessive touching of your face x 24 hours. We recommend waiting at least 1 week from treatment before receiving laser and other aesthetic procedures over the treated region.
