Whether you’re training for new athletic milestones, or improving comfort with everyday tasks, Dr. Shapiro can help you meet your goals. Dr. Shapiro has extensive experience working with lower extremity injury prevention, and treatment.
Appointments will incorporate evidence based orthopedic assessment and communication about physiology of injury. Dr. Shapiro works with patients to form a plan, balancing both symptom reduction and recovery therapies. In addition to diversified adjustments, Dr. Shapiro will utilize a variety of techniques, including myofascial release, trigger point therapy, instrument-assisted soft tissue, cupping, taping, and focused rehabilitation exercises.
Dr. Shapiro received her undergraduate degree focusing in Biomechanics, Motor Control, and Exercise Physiology from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI, where she was also a Division 1 athlete. Dr. Shapiro is a Portland native, former massage therapist, alpine ski racer, and BRCA 2 previvor.
